Witcher 3 Crossbow Bolts Question

Okay so I'm having a hard time figuring out how the crossbow bolts work maybe I'm an idiot but it doesn't really cover anything about them in the game Vesi just kinda gives you one on the Griffen fight and says alright to kill it. But here my question some blots have a Duration on the Effects and some just say plus whatever silver damage, The whole duration thing gets me because most say anywhere between 10 to 20 second duration but Tracking Bolts say 120s Effect Duration +5 Silver Damage +100 Armor Piercing. So does that mean it's does 5 silver damage over 120s which doesn't seem likely or 5 Silver Damage every second for two minutes and that +100 Armor Piercing does that mean it ignores all armor since its at 100 I know crossbows are kinda shit / the ammo is crazy expensive but I like to know exactly what my stuff does so I can do the best building for whatever the circumstance maybe also second question on Runes they say +whatever the effect maybe say bleed what's the damage based off of like my quick strikes do 125 bleed damage every time I use them so should I not stack that, Or if I do burn damage or poison is it just a base damage set for whatever you choose or does it differ or does it go based off certain stats.
