I think this quest might be bugged or something. I don't remember how I got the contract, I think I picked it up on a board. I can't talk to the boy's father even though he has an exclamation mark. When I go to kill the monster he's just impossible to beat. I'm on version 1.11, if that matters. Is there a fix or something?

Hi guys,

I have a question about the Arachnomorphs from Hearts of Stone.

I understand that they are a challenging, frightening new enemy that come with the expansion. I just installed HoS after getting it on sale but I am only just going to Skellige for the first time in the main quest so it will be a while before I’m starting any of the expansion quests.

My question is: Do you encounter Arachnomorphs in the wild all over game world after installing it? Or are they only in the new areas added by HoS? Will they only show up once you’re a higher (30+) level?

I have a bit of an irrational fear of eight legged things and I’m not looking forward to my first clash with those ones…. but there is no way my phobia is going to interfere with more of the best game I’ve ever played!

I love this game. Have put MANY hours into it. RANT: However, there is one issue that I find very annoying. That's the player controls. I'm playing on the PS4, and whether I am playing as Geralt or riding around on Roach, it feels as though I'm controlling a pregnant elephant. VERY clunky. Trying to go through doors takes 3 attempts because he'll always over/undershoot it. Trying to make tight turns… lol impossible. Riding on Roach is probably even worse. Making turns on him is past impossible, as well as he gets stuck on EVERYTHING. Anytime I get into a town, I'll just walk through it to save the trouble of trying to unstick myself on the smallest of items. Swimming is also a major pain in the butt. Basically all movement in this game is clunky and has made me rage quit multiple times because I'll fall off a cliff and die because I can't turn like I want.

Mam uzasadnione podstawy podejrzewać, że strona Electronic Arts (w tym Origin) została zaatakowana. Niby strona działa, ale ja nie mogę zalogować się na swoje konto Origin, poza tym dostałem e-maila, że został zmieniony adres przypisany do konta. Niedługo później przyszedł drugi e-mail, że hasło do konta zostało zmienione. Próbując skorzystać z pomocy technicznej EA (wchodziłem "z palca", nie korzystałem z linku w mailach) wyskoczył mi komunikat, że "Dział pomocy EA nie działa prawidłowo".
W każdym razie jestem już "byłym" posiadaczem mojego konta na Originie, bo nie bardzo wierzę, by udało mi się je odzyskać. Oprócz Blacklist i DA:O miałem tam w zasadzie większość darmówek, więc wieszał się przez to nie będę, lecz szkoda i tego.

Radzę zatem wszystkim posiadaczom kont na Originie przedsięwziąć podstawowe w takich przypadkach kroki, jak choćby zmiana hasła na takie, które zapewni choćby minimum bezpieczeństwa.

PS. Na Twittera też próbował mi się ktoś włamać, lecz na szczęście bez powodzenia.

Undo romance decision? [Spoiler]

Is it possible to undo the romance decision which involves Triss somehow without having to reload an old save? I am kind of a fan of the "quick save" functionality and have a lack of manual saves. Unfortunately the game doesn’t preserve a huge history of all these "quick saves". The closest save to Now or Never is the Cabaret one, which is unfortunately 4 days of gaming old since my recent progression. If my progression only involved main quests, I would consider replaying them. But redoing all the Novigrad and Skellige roaming in between feels a bit frustrating.

I am currently still able to turn Yenn down (I just finished the Freya garden mission), but it feels not right since the whole game starts to center around her. Triss merely seems a slightly more elaborate NPC.

Is it somehow possible to manipulate the save binaries?

I just cant… Fuck man, FUCK. The Vesemir scene really hit me. I fucking cried, I've cried in many games, or in the scene with Ciri in the isle of mists, but I can't remember like actually sobbing. This is the most amazing game ever, thanks CD Projekt Red, and thank you Andrzej Sapkowski for the world of the Witcher. I can't wait to finish the game, but I will rest for now.

Just wanted to give praise for how incredible this series is. I was introduced to The Witcher via The Witcher 3. Thought it looked cool, said what the hell – I need something to hold me over until Arkham Knight is released.. I figured it would be something I would merely tinker around with, like Elder Scrolls or Dragonage; holy shit was I wrong. The Witcher 3 had me hooked. I played the game extensively, delving into the lore and every piece of history I could get my hands on. I ended up buying The World of The Witcher book, highly recommended for any fan, and I've read all five books so far released in America.

I just finished Rhe Witcher 2: Assasins of Kings, and while I don't think it comes anywhere near Wild Hunt, the sheer scope of the series and game is breathtaking. It is so.ply excellent. I bought a used 360 just for the game and I'm glad I did. So in summary, like minded Witcher fans, share your experiences with the series. Were you introduced to the series with Wild Hint, or where you a fan long before? This is one of the most excellent series I have ever played, and it transcends what video games can do in general.

So I have thought "why shouldn’t I make a little "history" of the Witcher theme(and,hopefully,whole soundtrack,if it’s possible cause it’s 5:11 AM here and I am very tired).So,let’s get started shall we?Here it is.The history of "The Witcher" series’ main theme.
For the first Witcher game,the developers hired composers Adam Skorupa and Paweł Błaszczak to make a soundtrack that fits the game’s atmosphere perffectly,down to grim tones to brighter,more lively tones.It is officially composed of 30! tracks(30,because we add the main theme that is on the main menu),and it’s duration(adding the main menu theme) is of 78 minutes and 48 seconds.Aditional performers,for example,the vocals,are Karolina Cel — solo violin (track 11), Iwona Malczewska — vocals (tracks 01, 03, 04, 09, 15, 19, 26) and Adam Skorupa — vocals (track 07). The soundtrack also features an Elven ballad, Elaine Ettariel – an elven ballad about the heroine Ettariel.The ballad is in Elder Speech; the name translates as Ettariel the Beautiful. This ballad was first mentioned and sung by Master Dandelion in the witcher book "Times of Contempt" and he also attempted to translate the lyrics.In the first Witcher game,the soundtrack appeared at the beggining of ACT IV.
I have to admit I only played the first Witcher game in 2012,and what struck me most about the game was the story and the soundtrack. I didn’t like high-fantasy games that much,and I got the game out of pure curiosity.And here I was,staring at the beautiful, water-painted moving main menu background,when the Witcher theme started.The chills I felt on the back as the instruments started joining an armony of tunes and vibrations,ooh so satisfying.I thought then that this sure has to be the main theme,and to my suprise,it turned out to be.For those who maybe didn’t play the first game,here is the main menu theme,starting at the part I am talking about.But by all means,listen to the whole song if you want! https://youtu.be/SIuh8F_RROg
After finishing the game in a handfull of days,I realized that the main theme matched the atmosphere of the game PERFECTLY.It starts slow,letting you learn about the world,and then it starts with a scream,telling you that the world of The Witcher is not a place of pure joy and happiness,oh no.That first impression is what made me a huge fan of the series.The first impression,always counts.
I immediatly picked up The Witcher 2:Assassins of Kings and here I was again, at the main menu, admiring the beautifull moving trees in the background and the graphic fidelity,when the main menu theme started.This tame,a never-forgetting symphony of "hard" and "dark" tunes started,telling me "beware,for dark and cruel times lie ahead".Ooh how right they were,cause the story and atmosphere of the second game were horrible in the best way possible!Vile sorcerrers,assassins,big giant octopuses(?) blood and dead people.
The soundtrack of The Witcher 2:Assassins of Kings was composed by Adam Skorupa and Krzysztof Wierzynkiewicz. The soundtrack CD is included with the game. It consists of 23 tracks with the total running time of approximately 73 minutes 1 second. On the Gog.com version, there are 23 more tracks. As I’ve played the game I came across a lot of great songs,like "The path of a kingslayer" or the main menu theme(cause this is all about main themes) "Assassins of Kings". Finishing the game,I realized the composers did it a second time,matched the soundtrack with the game perfectly and,of course,by seeing the ending of the game, I was sure they will do it again in the third installment.
On February the 3rd 2013, The Reveal trailer launched for The Witcher 3:Wild Hunt,with a bang.The short trailer,depicting the wolf medalion(that I can’t seem to be able to buy cause I don’t know why it tells me the order cant be place.No,seriously,hAlp,pLoX) painted in blood and A BIT OF THE FIRST WITCHER MAIN MENU THEME.I was so happy that they will release the third game,and I was even more happier that the theme I loved a year before the reveal trailer will make it into the Witcher 3 game.The other trailers confirmed that for me.This time though,the main theme seemed to be more angry,more cruel, more dark.

I started a NG+ about a month ago when I purchased the DLC and just got around to being the level to actually begin the new content. So far I've run into nothing but problems with every quest I've started being bugged. First off, there's no pickax that has spawned around the merchant, and the first part of what I'm assuming is a chain has come to a screeching halt due to the fact that the chest I've looted contains nothing to further the quest. Does anyone have a solution to these issues or am I dead in the water?

Questions about quests and levels.

Hello, I've been playing witcher 3 for 2 days and I have some questions. I just finished the main story in Velen and I am asked to go to Novigrad. However, there are a bunch of sidequests and contracts that I have yet to complete. Should I do them now and not worry about being overleveled? If I leave them for later, will it be worth coming back to experience the story or is it going to be too late? What is better to do, if I were to decide: secondary quests or witcher contracts? SUDDENLY missing ENTIRE objects and textures!

I haven’t had a graphical glitch like this before. I’ve been playing Witcher 3 1.11 version with the latest Hearts of Stone and 16 Free DLC’s pack for a while, then I re-installed the game, verified it with GOG, but instead of my usual great graphics, I get THIS

My system is in perfect order. All the latest and greatest drivers, updates, no viruses or spyware, not instabilities, no problems with other games, etc. Everything is good. I am not using ANY MODS. I tried loading several SaveGames and then going to Novigrad and I got this major issue each time. I ran GOG verification as I stated earlier and it didn’t find any issues. I tried re-applying Hearts of Stone DLC and 16 Free DLC’s packages, but that also did nothing. I, of course, reset my .INI config files to DEFAULTS to make they were not the case and in the end they were not. I am OUT of ideas!!!

To PC Witcher players: just upgraded my gaming PC. Consider re-buying Witcher 3 for PC even though I beat it on PS4?

Just for more context, I beat W3 on the PS4 a month or two ago, great game (I romanced Yen on my only playthrough). This was a little after the patch came out a while back with some additional romance scenes added. Never played NG+ or Hearts of Stone.

For my new computer I got over the holidays, it has a I5-6600k CPU and a GTX 980ti, 16GB RAM. I also plan on playing with my 1440p monitor, 144hz. While some obvious benefits include the graphical upgrade, are there other things from a PC standpoint (i.e. modding) that warrant a repurchase? Since there's a steam sale going on I am considering it.

Dokładnie ten sam problem, tyle, że ja gram na patchu 1.11. Problem występuje tylko w walce, głównie mieczem. Dźwięki przy zadawaniu ciosów mieczem są takie jakbym bił z pięści, bądź w ogóle nie ma żadnego dźwięku. Żadnego oszczędzania energii w windowsie nie mam, sterowniki do karty dźwiękowej są aktualne. Windows 10. Problem występuje od jakichś 2 dni, wcześniej było wszystko w porządku.

После прохождения Ведьмака 3 решил перепройти Ведьмака 2, но, так как моей основной ОС сейчас является Linux, то и играть стал на нем.. Загрузил в Steam, начал играть, все хорошо… Но… При создании снаряжения по чертежам (доспехи, оружие, ловушки), в меню снаряжения созданных предметов нет, хотя ингредиенты благополучно списываются. Персонажи, у которых крафтил вещи, значения не имеют (кузнец-краснолюд, эльф Седрик – без разницы). ОС также значения не имеет, пробовал на Debian stable, Debian testing, Arch. Scavenger hunt wolven basic set glitch.

So I decided to look for the wolven gear sen in Kear morhen and went to the signal tower, can’t find anything lootable that has the diagrams in it, but there is a chest that I can’t loot so I will assume that is the chest it should be in. From looking online this has been an issue for a long time and was supposed to be patched? I just got the game for Christmas so i have the patched version of the game and this is still not working for me.

Few quick questions about Hearts of Stone

Finished up my NG+ Death March playthrough a while back and wasn't able to get to HoS until now, mainly because I've been busy with Fallout 4. Before I start tomorrow I just wanted to ask a few things to the people that have completed it.

1. Roughly how long did it take to complete the main story line & the side quests?


2. Should I start from my NG+ Save? I have high level gear and I don't want it to be too easy.

Trouble running the witcher 3

I just picked up the witcher 3 for Christmas, and so far been loving it. My only complaint is the frame rates I've been getting. My computer had a gtx 980, i7-3820@3.60GHz, and 16.00 GB of ram. My frames on ultra without hair works average in the 50s, with drops into the 40s in side of cities and other heavy areas. My question, as someone who does not know anything about computers, with my rig, should I be getting these frames, or is something else wrong with my computer.

[Mod request] Lightsaber mod

I was thinking that a lightsaber mod would be absolutely amazing. I love this idea so much that I would absolutely do it myself if I had any ability to. I was thinking you could choose between blue, green, red, or purple lightsabers, and your enemies would have opposite-side lightsabers (red if you're blue or green, or vice versa). I figure this would look particularly awesome if you were in a cave and the lightsaber was emitting light. I figured the lightsaber would reskin the currently-equipped sword model, not be a different sword that you could equip. Up for debate though.

Anyone who could figure this out and feels motivated to, you would have my sincere thanks.

[Solution] How to ensure your (quick)saves will not get overwritten and lost?

Hello hello,

TLDR version: If you play on PC and don’t want to lose ANY saved game (be it quick save, auto save, hard save), read on.

W3 is quite a long game and it seems to me that quicksaves and autosaves have only a finite number of slots they can occupy. If you want anything more permanent, you have to rely on hard saves which I do not really… use… because I am either too lazy to go to main menu and do it manually, or simply get too involved and find out after 3-4 hours of playing that I did only quicksaves and if I want to go back to particular point I am screwed.

Anyway.. I did not find a quick solution to this online so I made my own.

Long story short – it is a small program that scans Witcher 3 save folder and copies all new files to another folder as soon as they appear.

I am using Windows 7, though any Windows should be fine. If you are using a console, tough luck.

Step 1:

Download Folder Monitor 1.1.0.1 from Nodesoft [106 KB ZIP]. Free, no ads, works nicely. I am a new user so I cannot link anything – google it.

Step 2:

Go to "My documents" folder you should see "The Witcher 3" folder in it

Step 3:

Create folder "W3backup" in "My documents" folder

Step 4:

Go to C:\Windows\System32\; find "xcopy.exe", right click, select Copy.

Go to "W3backup" folder you made earlier, right click in it and select "Paste Shortcut"

Rename this new shortcut to "xcopy"

Right click this shortcut select Properties and in this window change "Run: Normal Window" to "Run: Minimized"

(all this shit with shorcuts is because otherwise the small console windows would pop up for a milisecond and throw you out of the game for a moment)

Step 5:

Open the downloaded ZIP file and extract "FolderMonitor.exe" to this "W3backup" folder

Step 6:

Run "FolderMonitor.exe". Nothing big will happen, there should be only one icon in System Tray. If it is not there, download newest .NET Framework from Microsoft [1 MB web installer, ~106 MB download version 4.5.1] and try again.

Step 7:

Double click icon of FolderMonitor in System Tray. Window opens. Right click in it and select "Add Folder". Navigate to "your_user_name\My Documents\The Witcher 3\gamesaves" Select this folder and click OK.

Step 8:

There will be new text line in the window, right click it and select "Options".

In first tab "Events": Select: Created. Unselect everything else.

Step 9a:

In second tab write next line into "Command". replace "your_user_name" with your Windows user name of course.

Step 9b:

Write the next line in the "Arguments". replace "your_user_name" with your Windows user name of course.

Close this window with OK.

Step 11: Right click FolderMonitor icon in System tray, select "Run at logon\All users"

Step 12: Right click FolderMonitor icon in System tray, select "Options". Select "No visual notification" in first tab, UNselect "Stop screen saver", select "No sound" in second tab. Close the window with OK.

Step 13: That is it.

All files that appear it your Witcher 3 gamesaves folder will now be copied as soon as they are created to folder W3backup. Then you can find all old saves when you sort them by date of creation. Process is automatic, starts when your PC starts.

There would be pictures if necessary but I am a new user with <10 posts, so.. no pictures for you.

This works for me nicely, if I ****ed up somewhere in the instructions, let me know. Good luck

The chrome books had a few implants for resisting hypothermia, but if there is a roll for hypothermia I missed it. Does anyone know the best way to handle death by freezing?

В общем прохожу игру третий раз. Первые два было без проблем. В этот раз после "Заглянуть домой к Трисс" включается заданиие – поговорить с нищими или проследить за вором. Я его не выполняю а иду на Скелиге и прохожу все квесты с Йен. Вернувшись в Новиград, вор понятно уже ушел давно а подойдя к любому нищему не включается диалог с ними и естественно игру дальше не пройти.

[Spoilers]I am at wits end with the levelling system in this game.... Suggestions??

No matter what I do I'm constantly out leveling the content in this game. And I'm getting really afraid of not being able to use end game gear by the end of the game. I avoid all "?" on the map and just do contracts, secondary, and main quests and i can't seem to catch up. What the fuck am I gonna do here? Does everyone have this problem? For reference I'm level 16 now and still cleaning up level 12 quests. I'm doing the main quest in Novigrad right now. I also still have 6 "!" on the map around Novigrad. And for some fucking reason I just got a lvl 9 quest while doing the bath house section of the main quest line . Any suggestions or is this normal and to be expected at this point? I literally feel suffocated right now trying to not out level the main quest and witcher contracts. Also, Gwent is fucking awesome, haha.

I’ve tried many times, but just can’t get the Kayran killed, only managing about 2 tentacles before I die

Rebuild Kaer Morhen?

Anyone wish they had the option to spend coin to repair Kaer Morhen? I recently finished playing Fallout 4 and MGS5 and although they cant touch the witcher they had the option of building up your base of operations.

Seeing Kaer Morhen in ruins and so……empty after the ending especially just makes me avoid it.

Anyone would like to be able to rebuild it?

NOT A SELLING POST -QUESTION ONLY POST. there is no rule against this thing I think, so here goes:

I currently have the Xbox one collectors edition with collectors edition guide and extra hearts of stone gwent decks. I'm looking to sell it. I'm well versed and have sold many things on eBay, but when I looked up this on there to get an idea of a good amount to list it for, they only results were one NIB at $299, and one at $499 without the extra stuff I have.

I'm confused. Is there a more accurate going rate for this edition. Those prices seem off (great) but are for buy now type of things. I was looking more at doing an auction thing.

Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings on PS4

Hello CDPR,

I love The Witcher 3 and I’m about to finish the game on PS4. I did own The Witcher 2 at some point on a PC, but I couldn’t really get into the game (although I did gawk at the graphics for a while). I even started playing TW2 again when you guys released the big patch, but alas lost track again.

I always knew The Witcher was a great game, but I never realized it till I had the opportunity to play TW3 consistently on the PS4. I know you have TW2 both on PC as well as XBOX360. I also tried TW2 on the PC with the XBOX controller at the time of the big update. It seemed like an ad-hock feature that wasn’t as refined as it is now with TW3.

While I bow my head and ask for forgiveness from the master race, I would really like to see a refinement of TW2 (specially in terms of controls) on the PS4. I think it will sell really well (I can guarantee, lots of gamers that are into games like this still haven’t played it), and help you make your next game.

• Completed the majority of quests up to Skellige

• I was able to romance Triss


• Been a while since i played because i got so demotivated from losing my file, but I’d prefer a saved game on the easy difficulty level. Think it’s called For the Story Only or something like that. Don’t remember if difficulty is changable in game.

[SPOILERS] Question about quest progression.

I just finished my first playthrough + HoS and I am astounded by the detail and depth of the world, a truly amazing game, both in gameplay as well as storytelling and lore. What I wanted to know was if there was a way of completing quests so as to not get Vesemir killed in the Battle of Kaer Morhen ? I am just starting my NG+ playthrough and wanted to know. Thanks!

Like the title says. I just finished the game last night and apparently I chose the darkest of out comes. I feel like I need to replay this game so that I can correct aloof the wrongs and not leave Geralt like I did. Wow, choose wisely my friends.

Requesting a save file - Level 18, Enhanced Cat Armor + Wepaons

*Spoilers* --- Isle of Mist

This is my second playthrough of W3, my first playthrough I stopped right after returning completing In Ciris Footsteps because I realized now I actually understood how to play the game and what not. But so on the current playthrough I just got to the Isle of Mist. I helped the dwarves and just found Ciri.

I damn near started crying during that scene for real. I just am so attached to this game, and this scene was crazy. Somebody spoiled one of the endings for me, so I knew that she would be alive but I also thought maybe I screwed up something so maybe this was the ending I would receive. Overall this game is just a complete masterpiece. I love everything about it. I can't wait to play HoS, then B&W. But this game is truly the best game I've played overall. It's a jack of all trades, as I truly can't seem to find an area it's lacking in. I'll be starting NG+ after completing this. But I just wanted to share the experience with you guys, and I wondered if any of you had that same experience I did when finding Ciri. Thanks for reading!

Graphics Problems (Current Patch)

Has anyone ever had this problem where boxes (usually black, sometimes greenish-transparent) randomly appear on different places on the screen during gameplay? This only happens when I am in first person view and watching cutscenes, and they disappear when I am in the inventory and such..

Is this clear or do I need a video uploaded?

Getting back in to it...

As the total says. I completed the story line when it first came out. Starting a Ng+. Just wondering a few things that I'm sure you can help with. 1. Is there new armour to surpass the mastercrafted gear you would get in the normal game? 2. When does the hearts of the stone dlc take place? If I buy it will it be available once the storyline is done? I don't want to be to low or to high to do this dlc and not really enjoy it. 3. Is there anyone to sell the swords and stuff to at a decent price? Just sold a sword to a merchant for 500 and he was reselling it at 6000.

Halp - Trying to continue my half-completed playthrough.

Hi y'all. I recently updated Witcher 3 to pick off where I left off (level 21 in Skellige, freshly defeated the Hym.) Currently I'm a little worried about tackling the game again because I feel like I have to re-learn all the little nuances of combat (let alone Gwent) and was wondering if y'all could help me figure out where to go from here. I've made a list of the various quests I have lying in my journal that are of lower level than me. Maybe y'all can give some advice on where I can "warm up" because as of right now I keep throwing random punches & chugging random potions I have equipped.

Quests :

• Redania's Most Wanted Lv. 12 (Tell Radovid about Phillipa – not sure why i haven't completed this yet.)


• Echoes of the Past Lv. 17(Find Yennefer in the crate)


• The Lord of Undvik Lv. 17 (Ask around New Port Inn/Find Hjalmar)


• A Feast for Crows Lv.20 (Use W. senses to find out more about the murdered man)

Contracts :

• Muire D'yaeblen Lv. 18 (Investigate the area where the Drowne dwere seen)


• Here Comes the Groom Lv.19 (Talk to Britt.)


• Phantom of the Trade Route Lv. 20(Wait in the cave for the Chort to catch the scent – I left this well alone because I tried tackling it several levels too early and I REALLY really learned my lesson about tackling overleveled quests)


• The Mystery of the Byways Murders Lv. 22 (Deal with the Ghouls prowling the village. For some reason the objective Talk to the commander of the Nilfgaardian patrol is marked with a red cross?)

Treasure Hunts :

• Scav. Hunt : Bear Sch.


• Griffin Sch Upgrade Diags.


• Cat Sch Upgrade Diags.

I currently have equipped :

• Ashrune Lv. 18 159-195 dmg (Wont bother with the runes.) AND Ursine Steel Sword (+27 dmg increase)


• Griffin Silver Sword – Enhanced (I think the enhanced came from my Enhanced insectoid oil)


• Enhanced Griffin Gloves, Trousers, Boots


• Enhanced Feline Armor AND Enhanced Griffin Armor (Something weird here because the moment i swapped out my griffin armor my feline armor became unequippable and had a level 23 Req.)

And have specced to have the following skills : 12 points in Fast Attack, 8 in Defense, 3 in Undying from Battle Trance, 3 in Exploding Shield from Quen, 3 in Delusion from Axii, 1 in Yrden Magic Trap.

A part of me feels like I could restart because there's quite a bit of new content from the patches and expansions from what I understand, but I also do remember having invested about AT LEAST 59 hours of game time, and I am usually only able to have time to play on weekends due to the nature of my work (which requires me to stay in 5 days of the week or more).

Any advice would be appreciated – can't wait to get back to killing monsters.
