So, I've installed Witcher 3, but whenever I try and play I always end up with horrible stuttering, at something like 1/4fps. After the main-menu, when the actual game loads, I can't even use the menu to exit the game because the cursor is utterly unusable. Get that, can't even use the menu it's so bad!
Now, with an:
- i7-4790k CPU @ 4.00GHZ
- 16GB of ram
- GTX 950
I'd expect this game to be well within the realm of things I can play, but it seems that I just can't. (Windows 7)
I've lowered my settings as low as they'll go, if there is an option I've disabled it. I've down some searches; set "pre-rendered frames" to 1, "Power management" to "Maximum", I've updated my drivers to the most recent (currently 361.43 GeForce Drive). I've disabled Aero, I've disabled my anti-virus, I've disabled GeForce Experience, if it's on my task-bar I've disabled it. I've done everything short of un-plugging my second monitor. I've tried borderless windowed mode, I've also tried full-screen mode. I've reduced the resolution down to 1024×768; I can go lower, but at that point why bother…
When I first tried to play I had an older GPU and was seeing the same results, I've since upgraded to my current card (GTX 950), but the results are the same. This leads me to believe that this isn't a GPU issue, but who knows?
I've just been hearing awesome things about this game and want to play it so bad, but at this point I'm entirely lost in a pit of hopelessness. Help!
