Disturbing images in the Witcher?

I wanted to share with you some images I thought were super disturbing (and I have the gore DLC so this is on an emotional level disturbing, not visual/visceral to me). I would like to read some of yours too, since everyone's play is a little different and I may not get to see them myself! I have 3 scenes in mind:

  1. In the outskirts of Novigrad, or maybe northern Velen, I found a quaint isolated homestead with a dead man hanging from his tree. This was not strange, as many deserters are hanged. But he did not appear as a deserter as he had his home's table kicked over under his body, was at home, with not a draft notice in sight. Worse, inside the home was a woman, presumably his wife, and toddler asleep in bed. Except they weren't asleep. I saw flies. They were dead in bed, but showed no injury. I want to know what happened! Suicide? Maybe they were new to the place and the baby got into some toxic plant? Weird and upsetting!

  2. Unfinished book underneath a hanging man's body. Wow. He was going to write that. (I read it).

  3. Nilfgaard's contribution to the necrophage problem. Seriously!? Having a policy of "no burying deserters or else you will be hanged." is the stupidest thing ever. Yeah, way to attract ghouls to innocent civilians, who are already traumatized and grieving. So if you bury your returned deserter husband, you will hang and die, if you leave him and his friends up their you will be eaten alive by necrophages or perhaps turned into one yourself. How is there no oversight on this. Is this mentioned in the book at least? I think at least 70 percent of the necrophage problem could be reduced by proper hygienic care of corpses. No wonder the North hates Nilfgaard (do the Redanian's have this stupid policy too? I would love a side quest where I inform the Emperor of this epidemic. DLC it! LOL

Thanks, and yes I realize all my images have to do with hanging, but I would love to hear about yours!
