The Modding Community

So lemme tell you guys, we’re dying and CDPR doesn’t care. The following months until the creation kit for Fallout 4 is released, our little shindig is going to get progressively smaller until vital mods like STLM stop getting updated and this part of the forum stops getting frequented. But lemme tell you straight, even the dribble of the mods that were created have kept me playing The Witcher well into 1000+ hours and that’s incredible.
Obviously like some other people I can’t play without STLM but more into my personal taste, I can’t play without Immersive Cam, Brutal Combat Evolved 2.0, Preparations and Friendly HUD. If these mods didn’t exist, I would’ve stopped playing The Witcher a long time ago but the fact simple tweaks can make a great game perfect is astounding to me since Skyrim needed mods that added more content for it to be more enjoyable (at least for me, anyway).

I find it exhausting creating a single mod with the lackluster Modkit but the feeling of having something you made in a game is a great feeling no matter what. Whatever sick joke the Christmas mod contest was intended to be won’t revitalise our seemingly doomed community but what will keep us fighting for it is the sheer amount of people that are into creating their own content. Whether you upload it or not, whether you even play the game anymore, so long as creativity is alive nothing will change how many hours me and so many others will keep putting into the Witcher.
