Why did Keira go through all that effort?

Keira wants to obtain the plague research notes from Fyke Isle tower so that she can use it as bargaining chip with King Radovid, so that she can get pardoned and all that jazz, right?

She wants Geralt out of the way when she goes to get them, so she sets up a fancy dinner with him, has sex with him (depending on your choice), and then sneaks off to the tower to get the research notes while he's asleep (or knocked out? Got the feeling that she may have sedated him somehow). Geralt then wakes up, becomes suspicious of her absence, and then is able to infer what she is up to, at which point he goes back to Fyke Isle to confront her.

The thing is… why go through all that effort for pretty much no gain, while making Geralt suspicious in the process? Couldn't she have just waited for Geralt to go on his merry way after dinner and sex (or no sex), and then travel to the tower unimpeded to get the research notes, with nobody the wiser? Geralt barely knew the notes were there and didn't have any use for them anyway.
