i have some trouble creating simple XML mods for the DLCs content with the official mod tools: it could be a wrong procedure i am using so i would like some guidance.
Here is what i did: I uncooked the entire DLC folder, copied the DLC10 (wolf set), DLC15 (cat steel sword) and EP1 folders in a new folder, that i renamed NewMod; in the same folder i copied the main game uncooked gameplay folder.
I modded the XMLs in Items and Items_plus folders (just basic equip_template mods for weapons and armors), then i moved the dlc folders under \NewMod\DLC\dlcXX\data\gameplay\items(_plus) and the main game files under \NewMod\gameplay\items(_plus).
Eventually i used modtools to pack all togheter in a mod: i used the line
wcc_lite pack -dir=X:\NewMod -outdir=X:\packed\ModVisual\contentI created the metadata file running
wcc_lite metadatastore -path=X:\packed\modVisual\content; at this point i just copied the resulting folder in the mod folder of the game, ran the game and found that and found out that the the only visual modifications occurring were the ones for the basic game files.
I repeated all the process a couple time just to be sure i was not mistaking sintax, but the result was the same (for instance the cat armor looked like the venomous viper one, the bear/feline/grifon silver sword looked like the relic one i chose, but Teigr was always Teigr, Wolf unchanged and so on).
I cannot understand where the problem is located: am i missing sintax, did i put the folders in the wrong category, should i create a different mod for the basic game and one for the dlc folders?
I should add that this is my first attempt ever at modding a game, so i am no expert at all. Anyway, thank you in advance for the eventual responses.
