Unable to load saved games - Missing DLC

I have the CD version and am using GOG on a windows 7 box. I do not use mods or any config changes etc.

After patching to 1.11 I cannot open any saved games due to an error message that says: Missing DLC "Beard & Hairstyles" and "missing Miners Contract".

I tried More>Manage>Get Back Up >DLC Installers but this constantly fails after downloading between 6 & 20Mb (It varies each time) with the error "disk error". I have 281 gb free space and no errors on my disk!

I tried More>Config>free DLC but this fails every time with either a "server error" or an "installation failed " error.

After extensive reading I tried More>Manage>Verify/Repair but this fails after a few seconds every time with "installation failed".

Now the "Play" button is greyed out!

Intel i5 3570 (running stock speeds) 8gb Ram
